Theme and Setting
Step into the shoes of a professional negotiator in Crisis Point, a high-stakes, story-driven game where your split-second decisions determine the outcome of life-and-death hostage scenarios. Navigate intense negotiations, psychological standoffs, and moral dilemmas across multiple branching narratives inspired by real-world crises.
Featured Scenarios:
● Moscow Theatre Siege – Inspired by the 2002 crisis, save 400 hostages while balancing negotiation and tactical coordination with Russian Special Forces.
● Flight Hijack – A tense negotiation unfolds mid-air as you guide an air marshal and manage threats on a hijacked flight to Singapore.
● PTSD Journey – A narrative shift exploring internal conflict through the eyes of a war refugee suffering from PTSD, with a focus on empathy and awareness.
Core Gameplay
Choice-based narrative:
Your dialogue decisions and strategy determine success or tragedy.
Timer-based urgency:
Make critical decisions under pressure—or face the consequences.
Immersive atmosphere:
Realistic sound effects, scenario-based art, and ambient tension deliver a gripping player experience.
Replayability:
Multiple outcomes and scenarios ensure that no two playthroughs are alike.
Scenario Engineering & Implementation (Technical Design):
Story 2 (Flight Hijack) was implemented using C# and WPF, entirely coded without a traditional game engine.
Pruthvi designed the game state system, linking screens through string IDs, custom audio cues, visual assets, timers, and consequences.
Developed branching decision trees with real-time effects and audio-visual feedback, simulating high-tension negotiations.
Narrative-Driven Mechanics:
Created a time-based decision system where failure to act leads to negative outcomes, reinforcing urgency and realism.
Incorporated contextual consequences, where emotionally reactive or logical choices affect the hostage situation dynamically.
Design Tools & Prototyping:
Co-developed Story 1 using Arcweave, structuring the narrative and game flow visually.
Defined interactivity logic and transitions across different story scenes, contributing to immersion and consistency.
Player Progression & Achievements:
Helped design the hostage-saving scoring system, which assigns player ratings (stars) based on saved hostages.
Integrated systems to reward strategic thinking and replayability.
Collaborative Vision & Game Identity:
Alongside the team, contributed to the ideation phase, drawing inspiration from Hostage Negotiator and real-world events.
Helped shape the tone, stakes, and player impact across all three story arcs.
