Theme and Setting
In a realm where magic is law and steel is survival, Guilds of Avalon invites you to step into a living, breathing fantasy world ruled not by kings, but by the hands of its people. Choose your destiny as a humble farmer, a brilliant artificer, a shadowy assassin, or a battle-hardened knight—and rise through the ranks of powerful player-led guilds. Forge alliances, explore ancient dungeons, shape national policies, and drive the economy in a medieval world where every role matters, every guild has purpose, and every action echoes through the land. Whether you're crafting the next legendary weapon, negotiating trade deals between rival cities, or leading your guild into a war that could reshape the continent, Guilds of Avalon is a grand tapestry of ambition, danger, and legacy—woven by the players who dare to claim it.
Core Gameplay
Occupational Class System: Over 30 professions across 6 sectors: Military, Magic, Crafting, Trade, Governance, and Exploration. Players choose and progress in jobs that influence the economy, infrastructure, and social fabric.
Guild-Based Progression: Players form and manage guilds—Adventurers, Merchants, Scholars, Assassins, and more—with unique perks, headquarters, and territory control systems.
Dynamic World Simulation: A realistic medieval economy simulates food production, resource extraction, crafting, population needs, taxation, and warfare. Supply chains matter—no sword without ore, no army without food.
Dungeon Exploration & Threat Management: Dangerous dungeons spawn magical threats that endanger towns and trade routes unless cleared by adventuring guilds. Dungeon conquest boosts reputation and prosperity.
Player-Driven Politics: A living feudal system where powerful players or guilds can hold offices, propose laws, levy taxes, or incite rebellion. Noble houses, elections, and diplomacy shape the realm’s future.
Magic & Technology Tree: A deep progression system where mages, scholars, and engineers can unlock new spells, inventions, or cultural developments that change world mechanics.
Legacy System: Permadeath mechanics for leaders and key figures with inheritance, apprenticeships, or historical legacies that pass traits, skills, or land to new characters.
Creative Direction:
Developed the core concept and vision: a fantasy world grounded in real-world economic, political, and societal systems, offering a fully immersive player-driven ecosystem.
Designed the class and job system, ensuring balance between player freedom, progression depth, and interconnected roles across the world economy.
Systems Design:
Built modular systems for guild progression, dynamic resource economy, and national governance, ensuring player actions had systemic ripple effects (e.g., ore shortages, trade wars, food crises).
Created the core logic for dungeon threat mechanics, linking environmental danger to national security and guild activity.
Worldbuilding & Lore:
Wrote the foundational lore for guild factions, ancient dungeons, political dynasties, and magical lineages to support emergent storytelling and roleplay depth.
Designed regional differences in climate, culture, and economy to promote interdependence and strategic regional control.
Player Experience Design:
Defined onboarding systems where players are guided into professions, guild creation, and nation-building roles through dynamic quests and mentor NPCs.
Designed the UI/UX for job selection, guild management, and political interaction menus with intuitive medieval parchment-style interfaces.
